How to Submit a Book Proposal
Activity Press looks for well written books and well researched books (same rules apply whether print or electronic). Our focus is on business and technology. We’re especially interested in books with a solid ‘how to’ focus. We do not publish fiction or children’s books.
Your proposal should include the following:
- A description of the intended market for the book
- An explanation of why someone would want to buy it
- A summary of the author’s background
- A table of contents with as much detail as possible
- A sample chapter or two (there’s no need to send the entire manuscript at this initial stage though you’re welcome to).
Please do not expect an immediate response. We receive a great many submissions and reviewing them takes time—this is one instance when no news does not necessarily mean bad news. That said, we cannot guarantee a response to every proposal but will return proposals that include a stamped addressed envelope.

Electronic Submissions
If you wish to send a brief summary of your proposal covering the points above, we will respond with a request for a full submission if it looks interesting. Please don’t send enormous files, a few samples of the work will be fine at this stage.
