Missed the seminar sadly but I am up with the play on what is happening overseas. I hope Booksellers will not be like the Camera retailers and wait until the last minute to see this opportunity. I see the youth today using technology over bricks and mortar to purchase.

Found the Wellington seminar very useful in giving a picture of where things are about now. The video interview with the four publishers was excellent. I, too, noticed the absence of booksellers, and would like to know of any initiatives from them, like the idea of having a 'cover' on the shelf and scanning the barcode gives access to the digital file of the book. Interested to see what comes up on this blog.

Given how important the mobile web will be moving forward, I'd like to see the government's 1.5B initiative helping with this key need. My understanding is there are several technologies that could provide widespread wifi-type coverage that could ride on the coattails of this fibre-based network. We need some competition to the cellular networks to make mobile data more accessible, affordable and fast. Maybe this is a time to be raising this issue?

I didn't attend the seminar, but the subject is of significant interest to me as I bring together a submission to the Government's plan for spending $1.5 billion on very fast broadband to the home. Submissions close on 27th April.

Great seminar in Wellington. Very informative, and as Martin noted with Neale Pitches presentation, inspirational. It certainly helped with my e-publishing plans. See you on Linked-In.
